Transmission and Distribution: AREVA T&D India wins 1300 MINR eBOP contract for GMR Group’s Warora Thermal Power Plant
AREVA T&D India has won a prestigious eBOP (electrical Balance of Plant[1]) contract for Warora Thermal Power Plant being set by GMR Group in Maharashtra.
This major contract, worth approximately 1300 MINR, is for the supply and installation of electrical Balance of Plant solutions for 2x300 MW thermal power plants in Warora Taluka, District Chandrapur, Maharashtra. The power project is coming up in two phases of 300-mw each in Warora.
Under the contract, AREVA T&D India will manufacture and install a 400/220 kV
Air-insulated Substation (AIS), as well as power and distribution transformers and switchgear equipments.
The Warora Independent Power Plant is scheduled for commissioning in September 2011.

The GMR Warora project contract is the fourth such eBoP contract for AREVA T&D India in the last 2 years.
